Hello Friends,

As many of you are aware, we have been filming our Radio Antioch Meetings for broadcast over the internet. Today we are releasing the first in a series of Video Podcasts, filmed at the Radio Antioch meeting on November 1st, 2008.

I must admit, we definitely have had to deal with the learning curve here. This first video had some occasional quality issues with the camera shots and resolution. We have worked to learn from this, so we expect the quality to be much higher starting with Podcast seven.

This video features our Podcast 6, Lessons from the Desert, which we released in audio format November 28th. We have started a new Blog category, “Video” to tag posts that feature video content. We will be publishing the videos in several formats. For you podcast fans, the video is available on the RSS feed for this post in .MP4 format.

Also new for this post is a video player that allows you to watch the video directly from your PC. To watch, just click the play button on the player window above. We will also be publishing 10 minute excerpts on Youtube, GodTube and on our teaching posts in the near future.

When the Children of Israel left Egypt they were little more than a rabble of slaves. As the Lord provided for them in the desert, He began to teach them to walk with Him and to depend upon Him daily.  There are many truths that we can learn from their time in the desert to enrich our lives today.

Again you point out the simplicity of the Gospel.
There are people we know of, some we can call by name, but those we call friend, those we have relationship with, these are the ones that we spend time with, communicate with. With God, it’s the same. Talking about God is not the same as talking to God. A true relationship with Him means talking with Him.
Our relationship with Him was broken when sin entered, but Christ paid the price so that the reationship could be restored. Again, just as with someone in the natural, establishing a relationship with someone does not happen just because they are available. We have to choose to enter into and build that relationship. And the more of ourselves we put into it, the closer it becomes.
Love at first sight is actually love that grew out of attraction at first sight. True love grows out of relationship. Questioned about the law, the commandments, Jesus pointed to love, “Love thy God….love thy neighbor”, prefacing a call to obedience, Jesus say “If you love me…” Scripture after scripture tell us, it’s a love relationship with Him that He desires.
A people rescued, yes that is us as well as the Iraelites. A people provided for, yes us again. A people that needs to grow in that love relationship He offers, yes, us again.
Much is made of the fact that the Israelites were in a desert. Issac was in a famine!
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. I Jn 3:1(NAS)
It does not matter where we are, but who we are. It does not matter what we are going through, but whether or not we know that He is going through it with us.
Again, as you pointed out, it is not Moses or Aaron or a cleric that we look to, but God.
As someone who may be further down the path than ourselves we can look to them for help to keep us on the right track but ultimately we are “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; Heb 12:2(KJV) It’s simply a growing love relationship with Him.
